WE LOVE CAMP READ-A-LOT!!!

Camp Read-A-Lot was a success!!! We had such a fun day!  The students came in this morning with all of their camping “gear”, did their morning jobs, and began working on their Camp Read-A-Lot Fun Book. We cleaned up after morning announcements and gathered around the camp fire where we had our Morning Meeting. At Morning Meeting we  did a  fire greeting, shared exciting news,  sang some camping songs. When our meeting concluded, we decorated camp hats and built our tents. Soon after we settled into our tents, our mystery readers arrived! Mrs. Farrell’s kindergarteners joined us  in our tents and buddy read with us. Before we headed to P.E. we enjoyed S’mores on a stick . They were delicious and so fun to make! The students came back from P.E. and we shared spooky stories. After recess and lunch, we made origami t-shirts. Some students made them for Father’s Day, others made them as camp shirts. We cleaned up our tents then headed out for a scavenger hunt and ended the day with a s’more song . It was an absolutely fabulous day!

See you tomorrow for our Showcase at 1:00 in the library!

Final thoughts :)

I want to take a moment to thank you all so much for your support throughout the past two years. I have enjoyed every second spent with your children and feel incredibly blessed. I have watched the children in our classroom grow academically-coming into 1st grade knowing letter names and sounds (some not even that) to now, reading like crazy! I have watched the quietest students blossom into students who feel comfortable sharing aloud, making new friends, and being  “silly”.  I watched students learn that it is okay to make mistakes and that sometimes that is the best way to learn.

I am so very proud of all the students in our classroom and am sad to say good-bye to them on Thursday. Their futures are bright and they will do amazing things!

I am sure I will see you all next year, but please don’t be a stranger! If there is any way that I can support you in the future, please let me know.
