Today was a very
productive day!
We learned a new
game called “Jump In, Jump Out” during morning meeting, identified inflected
endings in our morning message and did a butterfly greeting.
In reading, students
read to self, added a poem to their poetry journal, and created and I chart for
listening to reading (ignore the scribbles on the picture). Some of the
students got the chance to go to the computer and explore the Raz-kids website.
Soon enough we will be reading to self, listening to reading, word work, and writing
in addition to meeting with me in small reading groups.
In math, students
reviewed relation symbols (<,>,=) and got their first math homelink.
Surprisingly, most kids were excited for homework! We also played addition top-it using three cards instead of two.
In science, we
finished making our butterflies and also made pumpkins to decorate our room. Most of our butterflies have come out :)
The students also
got a HUGE compliment coming in to the lunchroom today. I was told by two of
the recess teachers that our class did the best lining up and going into the
school after recess. Hooray!!!
