Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!
Today our Pre-Student Teacher, Ms. Paxton came back and began her integrated Social Studies and Language Arts unit. Today, students discussed leaders and what makes a leader. We talked briefly about presidents, the leaders in our homes, and the leaders at school.

In reading, students continue to do Word Work, Listen to Reading, and Reading to Self. Next week, if all continues to go well, we will add in writing. Our final section of Daily 5 is Partner Reading.
This week, our spelling skill is contractions. We will do Word Detective tomorrow to find patterns that will help us with our spelling list.
In math we continue to practice naming numbers with tallies, coins, base-10 blocks, pictures, addition, and subtraction number models.
Halloween is on Wednesday. Students can dress in orange and black, however, no costumes or costume accessories. We will do some Halloween Math activities to celebrate the day with a healthy snack. Please also have your child refrain from bringing candy to school after Halloween. Thank you!
I will not be posting tomorrow due to conferences.
Have a wonderful rest of your Monday and a terrific Tuesday!
